At Ocean Freaks World – Surf School, the instructors are usually the first thing people mention when they talk about why they came back. We have been teaching surfing in Tenerife since 2008, and our approach has never been built on theory. It has been built on water time. On watching hundreds of students get stuck in the same places, and working out how to get them through it faster, more safely, and with more confidence. In a spot like Playa de las Américas, that local knowledge makes a real difference. Reading the conditions, timing the sets, matching each student to the right moment – that is not something you learn in a classroom.
Our lessons are shaped around the person in front of us. Beginners get a clear, calm introduction that actually makes sense. Those who have surfed before get honest feedback and something to work on. Families get an experience that works for everyone at once. And on days when the ocean is not cooperating, we keep the progress going – through surfskate sessions on land or Saturday yoga classes that build the mobility and body control that directly carry over into the water.
